Dear Jasmine,
I am bi-sexual and my parents do not know. I grew up in a Christian home and I was always taught that these kinds of feelings were wrong, but its something I could not control. I just came out to my friends recently and most of them took it well, but I am afraid to tell my parents because I know they will freak out. Please help.

Dear Rebecca,
It is always good to have the support of your friends, but I know you would like to have the support of your family as well. It can be difficult to tell your family when you know they are against it. I think before you consider telling them right now, maybe you should approach them and talk to them about bi-sexuality or homosexuality.
Perhaps you can tell them that you have a friend who is bi-sexual and doesn’t know how to tell his/her parents and what they should do because they really care about their parents and doesn’t want to upset their parents. Tell your parents you not sure what type of advice to give this person and that this person is really a good person and they are scared of telling their parents the truth.
I am not sure how your parents are or how easily they can catch on to what your saying so if you were to use that approach I would be pretty cautious so they don’t catch on your talking about yourself.
Always here,
Jasmine
