Time to Move Forward

Dear Jasmine,

I have been going out with my boyfriend for 7 years now and we have always talked about getting our own place to move out from our parent’s house. For the past year I was stricken with depression, stress and some acne, which I never had. Since then I have been avoiding the subject about moving out because I hate the way I feel and look.

I used to be so outgoing, full of life and now I barely go out. I haven’t moved forward at all since then. My boyfriend has always been there for me at all times, I really cannot complain about that, at all. Presently he has found a place for us but I am too nervous to do it.

I feel that God is giving me a chance to move forward and again be happy but I have become this negative individual that is afraid about everything at all times. Please give me some advice because everything counts.

Thank you in advance,
Evelyn V.

Dear Evelyn,

I think this is a good chance for you to get out on your own with your boyfriend and pick up your spirits again. When you move in, you can help redecorate the place and make it homey for you and your boyfriend to live in. Get involved in things that you once loved doing and bring the cheerful side of you out. Being so negative builds a wall that pushes everyone away, eventually maybe even your boyfriend.

You seem to have a very supporting boyfriend, which you should and sound like you are grateful for. Start with the little things and realize how lucky you are in those aspects. Starts getting out more and becoming more involved with the things you loved before, and bring your boyfriend along with you so you can share it with him too. Smile more, trust me it makes a huge difference. Yes, it is about time you moved forward and don’t look back.

Always here,
Jasmine
