Dear Jasmine,
There is this new girl that has started working at the same company as me. I really liked her from the minute I saw her but she isn’t that social. She tends to keep to herself and never hangs out with us after work. She always has some excuse as to why she can’t go.
It has been over a year and I don’t think she has gone to any outing we have had after work. I really want to talk to her and get her to come out, how do I go about doing that?

Dear Roger,
Maybe you need to take the hint and not invite her along or push her to go out. She may be one of those types that likes to keep her personal life and business life separate and you should respect that. Maybe she has a boyfriend or just rather do things on her own.
Just because she doesn’t want to socialize with those she works with, doesn’t mean she doesn’t socialize at all. You probably just need to back off and let her decide what she wants to do in terms of socializing.
