Dear Jasmine,
I am 35 years old and I am overweight. I tried a lot of dieting gimmicks that obviously did not help me one bit. I even try starving myself at one point. That only caused me to binge eat which made me gain even more weight. I want to try to exercise but it is hard when I work and have to go home and cook dinner for my family and put the kids to bed at night. I almost feel like this weight is hopeless and I don’t know what to do anymore.
I considered liposuction at one point but I am skeptical of all the dangers that are associated with the procedure. I want to lose weight and exercise but I just don’t know how to divide my time so that I can do that and my family is taken care of too.

Dear Amber,
Depending on how your children are, perhaps you could join a gym and get a family membership. That way you guys could have dinner and perhaps have a light workout afterwards and you could be all together so you don’t need to worry about your kids.
Another way is to buy one of those exercise machines at home and when you get home after work, cook dinner and have a little bit of free time after your kids go to sleep to use the exercise machine.
Another great way is to start walking during your breaks and part of your lunch break at work. That will really help out, especially if you work in a office type setting.
The more you exercise and eat healthier, like cutting out the snacks, etc, then you will start to lose the weight. Just don’t expect anything drastic. The important thing is to be healthy.
Always here,
Jasmine
