Dear Jasmine,
I have been hanging out with my friend’s brother a couple of times at after school events when my friend doesn’t go. He is 18 years old and I am only 15 years old. He is really nice to me and gives me rides home, etc. I don’t know if he likes me though because he is so much older then I am but I think I really like him. I am the shy type so I don’t really talk when I see him but he talks a lot to me. What crushed me is he made a comment the other day saying that I was like a little sister to him.
What should I do to make him look at me differently and not like sister? I really want him to like me but I am also scared of my friend being mad at me too. Is it wrong of me to feel this way? Please tell me what I should do.

Dear Helen,
I think that your friend’s brother probably does look at you like a younger sister, since you do hang out with his younger sister. Although I think he is fond of you, I wouldn’t go jumping the ship and trying to impress him to like you more. Don’t pressure things like that to happen, if it does, then it will, if not then it wasn’t meant to be.
I think this may just be a crush that you have on him and in time you will look up to him as a big brother to you as well. Just remember, he is your friends brother so keep in mind that it could always turn into a much bigger situation then it needs to be.
Always here,
Jasmine
