I am engaged to my boyfriend and he left me just before I was going to move in with him. We broke up and a week later he called me to tell me he was sorry and I took him back.

Your boyfriend broke up with you after you were engaged and now you are taking him back and want to get married right away. I don’t blame your family for not liking him and worried that you are making the wrong choice.
I don’t understand why you would still want to marry a guy who left you before you were going to make a big commitment and move in with him. Marriage is a big step, how can you be so sure your boyfriend won’t leave you when the time comes?
I think that your boyfriend needs to prove himself to you and your family and that you should hold off on getting married. Let him show everyone he is the man that no one thinks he is and give it a couple of years.
You are still young and you need to focus on other parts of your life besides just getting married. There is more out there and more things that will be offered to you so don’t jump at the first worm that wiggles.
