Dear Jasmine,
My husband and I were married in September 2005. He is 25 years old and I am 30 years old. I would say that our relationship is average. Although we have moments where we are flourishing with love, and we fight; these are not on a regular basis.
His 21 year old cousin proposed to his 19 year old girlfriend last week. They have been dating on and off since November. She moved to Indianapolis to start her winter semester of college. Now that they are engaged, she wants to move back to the Toledo area. They have asked to move in with my husband and I until they find a place to live.
The 21 year old cousin currently lives in his grandmother’s basement. I really don’t know if we should let them move it. I do not want it to have an effect on my marriage, and I have a feeling it will have a major effect.

Dear Erin,
Don’t get involved in something that you know may hurt your marriage. It sounds like this guy just wants a free ride and wants you guys to give it to him. It is not your responsibility or your husbands to help out his cousin. Getting married is no easy thing, if they haven’t found a place yet, perhaps they should focus on that before even considering getting married.
